Hi Julius: just a quick note to say thanks for organising this for us - we had a bloody great time. Pissouri is a dead relaxed place, the accomodation was spot on. By the last day both me and Fay were getting some good runs well into the bay, kite locked, bum skimming the water - AWESOME. Both managed to stay up wind a couple of times too, so we're getting there. This is such an excellent sport when things come together. |

Dear Waveriders Thanks for the excellent holiday. I went for the week kitesurfing in Cyprus between 29th May & 5th June 2004, and I couldn't have asked for a better holiday. The accommodation was fab! The guy that ran it was a star and he could do enough for us. Pissouri was a great place with good places to eat and not too spoilt by tourists. I can't say enough how great the guys where, they gave excellent tuition & I had a really fun time. This is a holiday that I would recommend to anyone and I will be booking to go next year for sure. We had very pleasent time in Cyprus and we thank you overall for those very satisfactory holidays. What went very well: - The Villa (quality and location) - The pre-reading received prior our travel - The phone call from Julius prior departure to check we received everything - The kitesurfing stuff provided locally - The courses received - The local welcome and general people kindness What maybe could be improved: - Being able to subscribe an insurance even if not UK residential - The local contact with the owner (being sure of leaving time..) - The opening days of tyhe centre locally: it's hardly acceptable to have Sunday closed in the July/August period when you know you cannot have wind every day. On the 10 kitesurfing days initially forecasted (and payed) I was only on water 7 days.. Thanks again for everything and you will see in the photo the results of those 7 days.. Kind regards. Julius, just a quick note to say thanks for organising this for us - we had a bloody great time. Pissouri is a dead relaxed place, the accomodation was spot on, weather was hot and sunny bar one day when it rained! Wind was up for 3 1/2 of the 5 days, fairly light peaking at perhaps 20 knots one day - damn - should have taken the 18m. In fact one day Fay and I were taking it in turns on a 16.5m in 12 knots, she a bit over-powered me a bit under, but up and running so hows that for flexibility? who needs a big quiver. Went wake boarding on 2 days, great practice, even Stu got up so that was a big step for him, and I managed some toe-side riding which was a first for me. Parameli beach is not brilliant for complete beginners, it's quite narrow so a bit intimidating, and it shelves quickly so instructors couldn't really help much with those who were trying to water start. Alex and his crew were a good bunch, especially the big man - Tom, he's a star, most enthusiastic and helpful of the lot. Always first on the beach and last off. Fay is now back in Azerbaijan and has been out sailing on the Caspian sea - how cool is that? Her next leave is July, we'll be at the beach hut in Calshott then, September a long weekend in Jersey - Stu and Les want to show us round. Early November - where is warm, sunny and windy at that time of year?? I've gone right off wetsuits since Cyprus. | Andrea, our daughter Lily and myself had a really good time in Cyprus. This wasn't really a kite holiday for us as the main reason we chose Cyprus was for my friend's wedding in Pafos. However we still chose to book with you guys due to the excellent service and value for money that we have had in the past from Waveriders and this time was no exception. I did manage to fit in 5 days of kiting lessons and the guys at Surf Cyprus were excellent. I would recommend them very highly. The kite spot - near Pissouri - was good, not too busy, almost no sunbathers and wind 5 out of the 6 days I travelled down there. Thanks again! Regards, Alex, Andrea and Lily. |
