01 July - Welcome aboard Sam. Sam joins the Waveriders holiday team after a stint in Kenya and our 2 week session in Egypt as a full time Kitesurfing Travel consultant. I am sure she will give the boys a run for their money, watch out guys!

Due to the heightened security at UK airports, all BAA airports remain open but passengers should expect severe delays at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted.
In brief:
Hand baggage restrictions are in place;
Passengers will be handsearched;
Footwear and all items (including pushcairs and walking aids) must be x-ray screened; Liquids will be removed from the passenger.
We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to resume access to the website as soon as possible.Due to the heightened security at UK airports, the BAA website is currently experiencing a high level of people visiting the site for information.

We have just recieved our Cyclone order of Xploders, fusions and the awesome Destroyer 2 starting at £379.00 complete with board bag.
Pike boards are new to the UK and now distributed through Waveriders Waveriders. These are and totally awesome Swiss hand made boards that are totally, totally awesome, mix up a bit of RRD, Nobile and Shinn and the result is PIKE LOVE!! Come and try this board.
No wind and need some sea action well Waveriders are hosting a Kayak open day here in brighton on the 5th August. We will have a whole host of bic kayaks to demo and with special one day offers a day not to be missed.
One more day for the diary is AUGUST 23rd when we will be hosting our Cabrinha demo day. We will have the whole new Cabrinha 2007 range of Contra Bow, Cabrinha and Switchblades all here to try. Lets hope for some wind to make this a cracking day.. See you on the beach.

Well I am in Cabarete at the moment and the sun is shining and the wind is blowing. What a great location, big open beach, sun, wind and waves, Happy days!
The Caracol is really chilled, nice rooms and what with the hotel being linked up to the Laurel Eastman kite club you cant realy ask for more. Bozo is the spot here and is at the downwind end of the bay and away from the Pole dancers. You for sure have to pick your moment to kite here as can get very busy, however if you head out for about 1km then you are into the waves and the begining of the downwinder to Boco which will be done today so tune in for the update.
Over the next two weeks I will update you guys with the latest and new things that I have found so for now for sure you guys should think about getting your arse`s out here as is going off! Julius

That month went quickly! Well the sign`s up, the flags are flying and were here. Waveriders has opened its all new Kitesurfing holiday and Beach Shop in Hove, 2 miles from Brighton Town centre, 7 Victoria Terrace by the King Alfred to be exact!
We have Mpegs to show you of our Holiday destinations, demo Cabrinha`s and North kites for you to fly,(more to come) some pretty damn fine T`s, Rash vests, board shorts and Sungalsses for both out and about and when Kitesurfing and soooo much more.

Well there`s not alot of wind this weekend so unfortunately this saturdays Wave Starter at Witterings is on the burner guys! For those who need to burn energy and have a Mountain bike then we will be meeting up at Stanmer Park Brighton at about 12.30 for a XC "mud fest session". Should be a good 3 to 4 hour hack around the downs and a few peachy single tracks - 07970 651 222 !

Well I am sure we are all feeling turkeyed out, ready for the onslaught of New Years and thinking about warmer climates. Kenya is going off with 24 knts day in day out. Happy Days.
20th Dec 2005 - NEWS FROM HURGHADA / COLONA WATERSPORTS
After a short break the wind is back again with a lot of 10m - 14m kites on the water.... this time of year is normally a great time to escape the cold European Climate for a sunny Kitesurf. The forecast is looking great for the week ahead and already the Xmas Kiters are arriving from all over the world, I even saw one board covered in Tinsel....that's the spirit.... Despite the wind last week not being so strong we still had kiters out on 12 - 18m kites and even managed some wave riding on the sand bar (without a kite), Its amazing what people get up to on our older directional kiteboards in light winds. The school is also busy as always with the Shift System (5th line) now in use the learning curve for beginners seems to have got a great deal smaller, that's no surprise really when you think about it, the same happened for me when I changed to it nearly 18 months ago. Obviously its warm here as always and the sun shines 365 days a year, the evenings are getting a bit cooler and shorty wet suits have started to appear, I forget how lucky I am some times escaping Blighty for the last 14 months. Christian Harris and Karine join Waveriders as their pro clinic champions to take you to new heights for 2006. The Coche clinic in March 06 is already sold and we are launching further dates shortly at anew and specific Waveriders centre.
12th Dec 2005 - MEEK Charity Kitesurf Cup - 23 Jan Kenya
Waveriders are stoked to support the MEAK charity kitesurf cup to be held at Nyali Beach, Kenya on the 23rd Jan. MEAK (Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya) are a charity helping children and people with eye surgery, heart operations and medical supplies on the ground in Kenya. This is a new direction for kitesurfers and the chance to put something back into Africa, a continent we all enjoy to ride in. A visit from orphaned children to watch the event will hopefully take place. The riders and organisers will endeavour to raise awareness for the charity along with funds. 9th Dec 2005 - Kenya Wind update
“Well we’re waiting with baited breath for then Kaskazi (NE Trades) to kick in and it’s expected any day now. The school is busy with a mix of students from the UK, Italy, and Kenya and, although the winds are a little light, the sunshine and Kenyan atmosphere is making up for it. That said, we’ve had enough wind to teach which is the main thing.
As the holidays draw near we’re seeing more and more riders returning with 2006 kit including Cabrinha Crossbows and the awesome new 16m Switchblade – this has to be the 2006 unhooked monster.”
