El Gouna is 30km north of Hurghada and was commissioned by a very wealthy Egyptian who decided to reclaim land from the sea to build luxury hotels surrounded by inland waterways.
The resort is well established, offers first class facilities and has become a very popular resort. With its grand hotels and marina full of "gin palaces", it breathes an air of luxury.
Since our first Kitesurfing days in El Gouna, nearly 5 years ago, there are now four superb flat water kite spots and three centres - so much to kite surf.
Waveriders recommend this resort mainly for the independent rider with family or non kiting friends as there is plenty to do off the water.
