The wind in Safaga is created by the difference in temperature between the land and sea and blows all year round averaging from Force 4-7Bft. In Safaga this is accelerated by the mountain formations which are closer to the coast than in Hurghada or El Gouna making the winds stronger and more reliable.
The wind window is 9am to 2pm in the winter months and 9am to 4 / 5 pm in the summer. The wind direction is off shore at the top of Kriazi bay and the sailable side of Tobia island, which is not a problem for the independent rider but of course we have rescue boats in place just in case.
