The Cape Verde islands are a small archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic, 1,500 kilometres south of the Canary Islands and are the nearest islands to Europe within the tropics. The 5.5 hour flight time to Cape Verde are therefore comparatively short compared to other island destinations such as the Caribbean or the Seychelles which one could argue take about twice as long to fly to!
Cape Verde and the island of Sal is an unspoilt paradise that has retained its charm, relaxing ways and of course its reputation as a great wave spot within easy reach of mainland Europe. In addition to the Island's sandy beaches and inviting blue seas, the island has the perfect fusion of Portuguese, African and Latin influences, combine that with its epic atlantic winds and there you have it, another perfect place for windsurfers to escape our colder UK conditions.
